Mountain Trail Resort

Located at an altitude of (2440m/8000ft) it is the perfect place to commence or conclude your stay. The resort consists of ten double rooms, with en suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and verandas. There is also luxury tent accommodation. The resort is surrounded by flower gardens and apple orchards, from where, on a clear day, you can enjoy stunning views of the snowy Himalayan peaks in the distance. The resort is open all year round & is euipped with stand by generators, incase of power failures, laundry service and a souvenir shop. All units are east facing overlooking the Himalayas. Conference facilities are also available for upto 30 persons. In winter, one can enjoy the cosy log fire in the restaurant, while outside the snow is piled deep. In spring, the gardens are full of apple blossoms, and the air is scented with thyme and sage. During the monsoons in July and August, the hills are shrouded in clouds, lush and saturated by the cleansing rain. And from July to September, the area lives up to its name as 'the fruit basket of Kumaon', with apples, apricots, plums and pears in abundance. Autumn is glorious, with crisp frosty nights and golden days - Mountain Trail is truly a place for all seasons. ACTIVITIES There is a clubhouse cum discotheque for get-togethers, with table tennis table, pool table and karom boards, a well-stocked library for guests, a barbecue for evening meals, a chidren's play area, and restaurant. They offer guided walks to local waterfalls, cross-country hikes, through the virgin forests, and to the natural beauty spots that surround the little town. Mountain bikes are available for hire and after your excursions, you can quench your thirst with natural spring-water, or a glass of buransh, a local speciality squash made from rhododendron flowers famous for its healing properties.
