KAUSANI
Kausani located at an altitude of 1890m/6200 ft, is a beautiful hill town nestled
in the lap of the Central Himalayas where the myriad charms of nature is displayed in all it's form.
It's subtle yet pristine glory is maniested in the lofty snow capped peaks and green valleys
that have tempted lovers of beauty since times immemorial. The peaceful atmosphere of this hamlet of
solitude is shaded by Pine &Oak trees. Nature has generously endowed Kausani with transcendental beauty,
which is unveiled in its tranquil landscape as well as a large variety of flora and fauna.
Though the climate is pleasant throughout the year, yet the best time to visit is between
March & May and September to November.Winter months brings in the snow & is extremely cold.
LOCATION
405 km from New Delhi, Kasuani itself was 'put on the map' by Mahatma Gandhi's comparing it to Switzerland.
He stayed here for 12 days in the year 1929. Set against the backdrop of the avenue of pine
forests, the mountains seems to be in deep slumber, resting against the clear blue skies. The reflection of the
blood red rays of the rising & setting sun on the 336Km stretch of the glittering peaks is enchanting.
From here one can see a range of peaks, including Neelkantha (Blue-throated Shiva, 6596 m/21569 ft),
Nandaghunti (the Veil of the Goddess, 6310 m/ 192330 ft), Trishul (the Trident of Shiva, 7120 m/ 23282 ft),
Nandadevi (Goddess of Bliss, 7817 m /25562 ft), Nandakot, Devidarshan, Chowkhamba, Meeraghunti
and the majestic Panchhuli peaks. The view at sunset from the the resort is breathtaking,
and will stay a treasured memory, long after you have left. Dont miss the Gandhi Ashram,
Someshwar & Kali temple, while you are in Kausani.
